MVMM ‘sBusy Season is ahead

Hi Members and Friends

Well, its that time of the year and everything is starting to happen, the sun is shinning and then it rained but I’m sure it will shine again.

Concrete has been layed for the extension on the Tori Shed, around the weighbridge and into the workshop has also been laid. This will help with access issues that have arisen over the time.

Concrete was also layed for the slucing cannon that has now been installed near the gold mine and newish gold display. This area has been getting work on it recently and is coming along nicely. Alan is also working on collating gold and mining history items throughout the museum so that they can be displayed as one exhibit in the near future.

Grass has been cut. Thank you to Shane, Daryl and Peter. Weeds and grass poisoned. we still have a bit of ground work that needs doing. if anyone has sometime or idea we would love to hear from you. Especially if you have a green thumb.

Please check out our FACEBOOK page as we are a little better at keeping this up to date.

We are getting busy.

We are being asked about opening Sundays regularly. When looking around town Sunday’s are very popular, being able to open more Sundays is still desirable. If you are able to volunteer for a Sunday, once every 2nd month,(1 day in 8 weeks) we would love to hear from you. Having this happen in 2024 would be fantastic. Please think about it.

October the 15th the Museum have a big day at the Maldon Baringhup Show. We have a display of Cyclops scooters, tricycles and more. Old cars. We are also taking items from our gift shop for a stall, Lots of goodie for everyone.

Aprons, tea towel, hats, pencils, pencil sharpners, coffe cups, and much more.

At the show as one of our major fundraisers members will be working the canteen. Cooking up a storm. Sausage and onion, egg and bacon, hamburgers, scones jam and cream etc.

If you are free to lend a hand, even for an hour, it may give someone a brake this would be much appreciated. Please message Renee 0427725251

November 4-7th As they say “Many hands make lighter work”

Volunteering at this event starts at 6am and goes til midnight+. It would be amazing if we could have enough people to work shifts. Its huge but enjoyable, if we get enough people to help we all get to enjoy the event, because you get a wristband for free. You can go any one of the musicians on show.
